CVS INFORMATION

IMPORTANT:

PARISC-Linux development now happens in git only.
Please read our git webpage instead.

ANONYMOUS CVS - For read only access to the repository. Set

    CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs.parisc-linux.org:/var/cvs
or specify the "-d" parameter when doing the initial CVS checkout. When prompted for a password, simply hit enter as no password has been set for the anonymous account.

AUTHENTICATED CVS - Developers with write access to the repository will have an account on the CVS server and use ssh to authenticate themselves. Set

    CVS_RSH=ssh CVSROOT=:ext:USERID@cvs.parisc-linux.org:/var/cvs
where USERID is your username. Or specify the "-d" parameter when doing the initial CVS checkout. Use ssh-agent to avoid having to re-enter the ssh password for every cvs command.

Developers who have write access agree with and abide by the PA-RISC Linux Acceptable Use Policy.

DAILY SNAPSHOTS - Tar/gzip'd daily snapshots of the cvs modules are available from cvs.parisc-linux.org/download. You can use them to make initial check outs go faster.

CVS OPTIONS - We recommend you copy the .cvsrc maintained in build-tools to your home directory.
