pmccabe was written at a time when computers were much slower so speed was of the essence. It is a recursive-descent scanner/parser written in C which only recognizes what it needs to recognize and ignores the rest. That makes it fast, but also difficult to change. Luckily the built-in test cases catch most introduced problems. Bugs remain and new ones will be found. I welcome patches. If you're going to help out, you should join the mailing list.

There's no documentation, aside from subtle hints in the manual page, as to how to use pmccabe or the other tools as part of a software lifecycle. If someone has a desire to write that and have me host it here I'll be happy to do so.

Packages and executables for other OSs are something I'd like to host here too. In order to keep things cool with GPL, I'd want the package-maintenance files and any other changes too, so they can be a part of the regular source package.

If it sounds to you like I'm not actively working on pmccabe you're right. I'm happy to manage the sources, CVS, mailing list, Debian package, and web pages until that becomes too much work, but fixing bugs and writing documents aren't things I have time to accomplish. Contributers get all the credit for their changes in the changelog and maybe on the web site too -- it's the only reward I can offer besides the satisfaction of helping others.
